Cupping

What is cupping?

Cupping has been used in Chinese, Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures for thousands of years. It uses suction cups which are applied to the skin for several minutes, allowing the skin to lift slightly from the muscle. This promotes increased blood flow and allows cellular waste products in the muscles and fascia (connective tissue) to be drawn towards the surface and expelled through the skin’s pores. Cupping can be used for a variety of conditions such as poor blood circulation, back pain and muscle tightness.
